Multisource, South Africa's leading wireless services provider, has entered into a joint partnership with UK-based XConnect to address the ever growing challenges of IP interconnectivity and Next Generation Networks (NGN). The new joint venture will provide advanced VoIP and NGN peering capabilities to South African telecommunications providers, allowing them to interconnect with carriers locally and globally.
"With the proliferation of IP and VOIP players, the complexities and associated costs of interconnecting carriers and telecommunication networks have become central," says Multisource CEO, Richard Smuts-Steyn. "This has spawned a new type of business, called Federation Services."
